| Josh Silber has many years of experience with all types of civil litigation matters, primarily representing accident victims, injured persons and victims of malpractice.
Josh has frequently served as "counsel to the profession" or trial counsel to other law firms and lawyers. In addition, he has acted as "local counsel" to law firms in other jurisdictions with litigation clients in New York. On several occasions Josh has represented lawyers or doctors involved in disciplinary proceedings and, if uninsured, in malpractice cases. Josh has been appointed by the Chief Administrative Judge of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan to serve on the Court's Malpractice Case Management Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and serve's as the Chairman of the Partnership for Justice Committee, a fund-raising arm of the Association. Josh has been designated by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and U.S. Trustees as a mediator in many malpractice cases involving uninsured or bankrupt hospitals, helping plaintiffs and defendants reach amicable settlements on cases which languished for many years before mediation. Josh has obtained many substantial verdicts and/or settlements for his clients including many million dollar plus recoveries. Josh received a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 1993 and is a current member of the Board of the Brockport Foundation, which oversees the investment and financial management of the college's endowment. Josh received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Miami Law School in 1996. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Florida as well as the United States District Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Josh is a long-standing member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the American Association for Justice (AAJ) as well as the New York County Lawyers Association and the Bronx County and Nassau County Bar Associations. He has frequently been asked by the ABA and AAJ to participate in their student trial and appellate advocacy competitions, where he has served as judge for many years. He has lectured locally and nationally for various continuing legal education providers including the New York State Trial Lawyer's Institute and Lawline.com in the subjects of medical malpractice and personal injury law. Josh has been appointed to and has proudly served on the New York County Democratic Independent Judicial Screening Panel which reviews and reports on the qualifications of candidates for judicial office in New York County.
