For over 25 years, Josh Silber has been representing the injured in complicated medical malpractice and catastrophic accident-related personal injury cases. He and his team are also litigating a substantial number of sexual abuse cases, helping clients obtain justice for unimaginable harms brought upon them as children by abusers working at churches, schools, hospitals and other institutions.  Josh has developed a reputation as one of the top lawyers in his field, having obtained many substantial verdicts and/or settlements for his clients. He has been named to the New York Metro SuperLawyers List, an honor bestowed upon less than 5% of the lawyers in the area every year since 2009.  He is recognized by several additional rating and peer reviewed publications including “Best Lawyers” where the firm is rated “top tier” and AVVO, where he is rated 10 out of 10.  Josh has been elected as a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have been selected by their peers for outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession.

Josh is an Executive Board member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and serves as Chair of the Judiciary Committee.

Josh received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 1993 and is a member of the Board of the Brockport Foundation which oversees the investment and financial management of the college’s endowment.  Josh received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Miami in 1996. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Florida as well as the United States District Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Southern District of Florida and the District of New Jersey.

Josh Silber

Josh is a long-standing member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the American Association for Justice (AAJ) as well as the Bronx County and Nassau County Bar Associations.

Josh has lectured locally and nationally for various continuing legal education providers including the New York State Trial Lawyer’s Institute, The New York City Bar Association, LawReviewCLE and Lawline.com on the subjects of medical malpractice, personal injury trial practice and legal ethics. Josh is currently a Dean of the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute, one of the most recognized providers of continuing legal education in New York.  Josh has been appointed to and has proudly served as administrator of the New York County Democratic Independent Judicial Screening Panel for Civil Court & Supreme Court which reviews and reports on the qualifications of candidates for judicial office in New York County.

In addition, Josh is a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department (covering Manhattan and the Bronx).  He as also been selected to serve as a referee for the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct in matters related to judicial ethics.
