New York Child Victims Act

The New York Child Victims Act allows child sex abuse survivors to bring a civil lawsuit against abusers and institutions that protected them until the survivor reaches the age of 55. It also opens a one-year window for child sexual abuse victims of any age to bring lawsuits for abuse that occurred even decades ago. This effectively revives previously barred actions related to sexual abuse of children.  The window is open until August 13, 2020.

We can help. Our firm represents many survivors.  It is our mission to empower our clients and to use this law to bring about a societal change. No longer should abuse be covered up or ignored. No longer should abusers be protected by their employers, whether they are teachers, clergy, coaches or others who have abused their power. Shedding light on abusers will help prevent future generations from suffering in a way that was acceptable to churches, schools, boy scout or girl scout troops and other institutions in generations past. We feel it is our mission to protect the next generation of children. We take our mission seriously and personally.
